Kristy Becker, Ph.D. is a Clinical Psychologist with forensic training and experience. She moved to Alaska in 2013, and served as the Chief Forensic Psychologist for the State of Alaska for several years. She currently serves as the Director of Clinical Services at Alaska’s only state psychiatric hospital, the Alaska Psychiatric Institute. She has interests including court-ordered evaluations of adults and juveniles, competency to stand trial, other competencies in legal and civil proceedings, culpability, mitigation, risk assessment, diagnostic clarification, education, consultation, and program development and evaluation. Dr. Becker has  over 25 years of varied career experience in mental health care, law enforcement, and crisis intervention. In her free time she enjoys traveling, entertaining her two dogs, spending time with her family, and enjoying the wide open spaces of Alaska.
