Stipends and Benefits

The annual stipend across four consortium sites will be $24,000. The stipend for the intern placed at the Alaska Psychiatric Institute will be $36,000. This stipend inequity is currently necessary due to the strict employment and payroll classifications of the State Hospital, which is a key component of Alaska's behavioral health care system. Efforts are in place to reduce this inequity, and AK-PIC is working on ways to pool consortium funds to create additional compensation for the interns receiving the $24,000 stipend.

Health benefits will be provided to all interns but may vary across sites. Annual vacation, professional, and sick leave will be provided to all interns.
